marilyn in dc

On a recent trip to Washington, DC, my family and I visited Ford’s Theater, The National Monument and many famous others. Hundreds of years of very important history represented.

But of all the wonders of DC, what struck me as the most graphic and inspiring is this mural of Marilyn. Painted on the wall of a posh hair salon in Woodley Park, the pouty, larger-than-life closeup greets DC-ers with her famous eyelashes, beauty mark and windswept blonde locks.

A beautiful piece of history, she was, indeed.
