nine is the loneliest number

This big fat red nine has greeted pedestrians at the Solow Building in New York City on West 57th Street since 1974. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, this (futura, extra, extra bold?) number is more than a street number. Standing all alone, it is a sculpture, a meeting place, a photo op. Everytime I stroll by, I marvel at Nine and just want to design with big fat numbers. Here goes > >
